Jackson “Jack” Howell was born in 1944 and raised in Petal, MS. After high school Jack served as a C-47 Flight Engineer in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1966, stationed in the Miami, Florida area. Upon separation from service, Jack stayed in the Miami area and worked in construction as a glass glazer for 12 years. During Union disputes or periods where work was not available, Jack would move to Nashville and work with his brother. Jack’s brother was Gerald “Bassman” Howell (2022 Entertainer Motorcoach Hall of Fame Inductee), who was building entertainer buses. Eventually Jack moved back to the Nashville area and became an entertainer bus driver for six or seven years, before he switched back to building. Jack owned his own entertainer bus interior company, named Conversion for a while, until Gospel entertainer J.D. Sumner invited him to become his Road Manager and bus driver. When J.D. Sumner passed away in 1998, Jack began employment with Hemphill Brothers Coach Company as an interior builder. He retired from full-time employment in 2012 but is still consulting with companies today.

As of this writing, Jack is residing in Lafeyette, TN.

Johnnie Temples was born in 1956 and raised in Kissimmee, FL. After high school Johnnie became a Master Technician at a Chevrolet dealership. Jack Calhoun, owner of Florida Coach Company would bring his personal vehicles to Johnnie for servicing. For a period of about 2 years, Jack kept asking Johnnie to come drive entertainer buses for him. Eventually Johnnie said yes, and in 1983 he became one of Willie Nelson’s bus drivers for 15 years. Being a mechanic, Johnnie wanted to stop driving and raise his kids, so he asked Jack if he could develop a repair shop program for Florida Coach. Jack agreed, and in 1997 Johnnie became the Service Director. In 2021, Johnnie retired and began working part-time as a consultant for Florida Coach.

As of this writing, Johnnie is residing in Davenport, FL.
